Located in Puerto Carreño, the capital city of the department of Vichada, in eastern Colombia; Lazarillo de Tormes Educational Center has a large number of indigenous, mixed-race and migrant populations as a border city with Venezuela. All this population is characterized by having low economic resources, which does not allow them to access a quality education. Public education is the only option, but unfortunately is not enough to serve the entire child population that has been increasing; bringing as a consequence the overcrowding of classrooms and, therefore, negatively affecting the quality of the education provided.
“We dream of seeing more low-income students participating in a comprehensive and quality education, who can feel the happiness that only comes from learning, this will allow our Lazarillo de Tormes family to grow and thus achieve sustainability over time; we seek to support the most vulnerable children in our region to learn and prepare for the future by being useful and happy in society.
These children do not have the support and tools necessary to transcend the vulnerable situation into which they were born.
Your contribution helps to offer them hope and a vision of a better future.
Do you think they deserve a chance?
