Our Purpose

Williams Educational Foundation supports quality education for marginalized youth.

We have experienced, first-hand, the need to provide financial and other support to public, parochial, and alternative schools in the region. Our goal is to strengthen the quality, consistency, and duration of education in these communities.

We work directly with academic institutions on the ground in these countries , ensuring we are meeting their most pressing and immediate needs.

We aim to provide as many children as possible with the tools and resources necessary to build a better future for themselves and those that follow.

Our History

The Williams Educational Foundation was born as a family initiative continuing the legacy of four generations committed to education and social responsibility.

We are an extended family of educators with decades of experience in a variety of disciplines including; Special Education, Administration, Music, Language, and Early Childhood Education.

Why Support Us?

We are an education foundation that promotes empowerment through learning!

As a small organization, we work directly with partner schools to identify their most pressing and specific needs and allocate funds accordingly.

To us, It’s personal.

Our Inspiration

Maria A. Williams (1956-2021) was a devoted educator who believed that knowledge is power, and that a quality education is the most precious resource any child can acquire.

Maria fled Communist Cuba with her parents when she was just six years old, and they ultimately settled in the borough of Queens in New York City.

Upon receiving her master’s degree from St. John’s University, Maria began her teaching career in the New York City public school system; specializing in special education, and often working in marginalized and underprivileged communities.

For the last 20 years of her career, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Miami, Fl. Maria dedicated her life to empowering every student she served; instilling values such as integrity, respect, and responsibility. Despite a devastating cancer diagnosis in 2018, she remained dedicated to her students. She taught through various rounds of Chemotherapy and radiation and, despite exhaustion, maintained the highest standards in her classroom and never abandoned her calling as an educator.

The Williams Foundation was established by Maria’s family in 2023 to honor her legacy by democratizing educational opportunity in Latin America and beyond.

Words of our founder

“In the last couple of years, after a lifetime as an entrepreneur, world traveler, and international speaker, I went through a process of transformation following the illness of my wife, Maria A. Williams, and decided to embark on a life purpose inspired by humanitarian aid.

Today I have decided to dedicate myself to expanding and fostering educational and personal empowerment initiatives in the world’s neediest rural communities. The guiding light and inspiration for this initiative is my late wife and the educational legacy of the four generations of the Williams family.

The Williams Foundation is devoted to honor this legacy and continue to enrich the lives of our young people. There will never be another Mrs. Williams, but there will always be a lineage of students graced by her presence.”
